WOMEN’S MARCH TENNESSEE 2020
CLIENT SITUATION
Women’s March Tennessee is a women-led effort designed to bring together people of all genders, races, cultures, disabilities and backgrounds to affirm our shared humanity and pronounce our bold message of inspiring one another to take greater action in civic engagement and support progressive issues. Power Together Tennessee, a chapter of The Women's March on Washington, rallied together community partners three weeks leading up to the October 17, 2020 Nashville Women’s March.
OUR APPROACH
In late September, The Change Agent∙cy signed on to support the 2020 Nashville Women’s March as a fiscal sponsor, event producer and as the official PR agency of record. We aided in all aspects of planning for the March, including securing speakers, creating the communications strategy, event logistics, and adhering to strict COVID-19 protocols.
The following speakers kicked off the event:
Marquita Bradshaw - candidate for U.S. Senate
Heidi Campbell - candidate for TN State Senate
Grayce Gadson – community activist, Black Lives Matter Movement Coalition
Allison Russell - artist, musician (Our Native Daughters)
Adrianne Wright - CEO of Rosie; Co-Founder of I Will Not Be Quiet
Dr. Marisa Richmond - professor, equity advocate
Rabbi Laurie Newman Rice - Congregation Micah
Sophia Luangrath - TN Immigrant & Refugee Rights Coalition
Charlotte Edwards - Youth Poet, Southern Word
The March converged with the historic unveiling of the BLACK LIVES MATTER mural in East Nashville.
